ABB's Traction Division has a strong position in the global market. We develop and produce traction converters and energy storage systems for railway, E-Mobility and special vehicles. To strengthen and grow our Traction Engineering, we are looking for a passionate Manager for the Global Engineering department in Turgi, Switzerland. If you have a keen interest in leading a department with nine Engineering teams, promote and demand individuals and helping to shape the leadership culture, this is your chance.

Your responsibilities

• Be the leader and entrepreneur of the Global Engineering department in Turgi, Switzerland
• Teach, coach and mentor your department team leaders and members to take full responsibility for the assigned project portfolio and to strongly support other Engineering Centers globally.
• Support and partially lead strategic initiatives to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the Traction Engineering Centers globally.
• Optimize the engineering capacity and competency by collaborating with other Engineering departments, Product Management, R&D and Operations to drive processes and technologies in the same direction.
• Offer an "easy to work with" organization towards partners and customers (internal and external).

Your background

• Endurance and assertiveness to grow and enable an Engineering department
• Communications skills to solve complex challenges (organizational and technical)
• Experience in innovative drive technology, ideally in moving trains and other vehicles
• Having strong drive and experience in global and intercultural environments
• English and German communication skills to motivate your department, collaborate globally and satisfy our customers
• Bachelor or Master degree in an engineering discipline with already several years of leadership experience
