Your role and responsibilities:

This role will lead the financial reporting process, with a strong focus on automation and efficiency. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the financial information of the ABB Robotics business is accurately consolidated, and that data reported to SoftBank (IFRS) and in the standalone financial statements is complete, accurate, and consistent.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead the design and implementation of our future SoftBank IFRS reporting process (including opening balance sheet adjustments, purchase accounting, and carve-out or stand-alone reporting, as required), ensuring that all data required to be collected is aligned with the reporting team and is built into the consolidation system.

  • Direct interaction with the external auditor to ensure that all requirements for financial reporting have been provided and addressing auditor comments and making changes, when appropriate, to the financial reporting based on these comments.

  • Preparation of financial disclosures, especially focusing on new disclosures which require new drafting based on new regulations or new transactions.

  • Maintenance of detailed supporting documents for all disclosures at a level that is sufficient for appropriate paper trail to demonstrate effective operation of the company’s internal controls and support the external audit process.

  • Maintain the structure of the OneStream consolidation system such that all required data for IFRS disclosures is correctly collected and consolidated.

  • Perform detailed analysis of reporting prepared by local reporting units to assess completeness and accuracy of key reporting parameters.

  • Detailed English grammar and formatting review of all financial reporting documents, ensuring that all style and formatting requirements are met, and that the English grammar has been accurately used. Ensuring that disclosure text is in the standard style for IFRS disclosures.

  • Lead the development and training of team members to expand the technical capabilities of the team.

Qualifications for the role:

  • More than 8 years of public company auditing experience; experience as well in financial reporting in a standalone company an asset.

  • Holding of internationally recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, ACCA).

  • Practical experience in drafting IFRS disclosures for public companies, including financial statement notes and management discussion and analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of financial statement account relationships.

  • Strong business skills, with high level of comprehension of critical business transactions.
