Global Communications Manager

Coordinates external events and tradeshows, ensuring alignment with marketing and communication plans and maximizing exposure.

Main function

The Events Specialist is a key member of the Events Center of Expertise, responsible for executing external events and tradeshows for a defined cluster of countries or divisional region, based on strategies provided by the Marketing & Communications Managers. This role ensures global standards are applied consistently while adapting to local requirements, delivering high-quality events that support the divisional marketing and communications plan.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external event and tradeshow delivery within an assigned cluster of countries or divisional region.
  • Execute event plans provided by the Marketing & Communications Manager, ensuring timely and accurate implementation.
  • Manage logistics, vendor relationships, and on-site execution for external events and tradeshows (physical and hybrid).
  • Ensure compliance with global standards, processes, and branding guidelines.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Communications Managers and local teams to adapt global strategies to regional/local needs.
  • Act as integrator across Motion divisions, ensuring a maximized value proposition and consistent execution
  • Collaborate closely with other Business Area (BA) events/communication managers/specialists to align event activities and messaging across
  • Provide strategical input to complement event execution with media and PR activation to maximize visibility and engagement.
  • Track and analyze event KPIs (attendance, engagement, ROI) and deliver actionable recommendations for optimization, including future participation decisions.
  • Prepare post-event reports and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor event budgets for the assigned region and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Assist with financial reporting and vendor invoicing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in external event and tradeshow planning, preferably in a global or matrix organization.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones.

Preferred skills

  • Experience in a Center of Expertise or shared services model.
  • Knowledge of hybrid event formats and digital engagement strategies.
  • Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Familiarity with event technology platforms and CRM tools.
