Business Development Manager Trading & Origination (all)
Take ownership of strategic projects that drive growth and innovation in energy trading and origination, collaborating across departments and borders to translate complex strategies into actionable results that make a real impact.
Your responsibilities
- You deliver and drive strategic initiatives across Trading & Origination, covering both structured and standard trading products with a clear focus on value creation
- Strategic initiatives are guided by you through governance and approval processes and translated into actionable, SCRUM-ready deliverables
- Working closely with traders, originators and senior leaders, you identify market trends, synergies and new trading or origination opportunities
- You actively support the growth of proprietary trading activities and the expansion of the structured origination portfolio in core and emerging markets
- Strategic projects related to new markets, complex deals or M&A activities are led end-to-end in collaboration with Finance, Risk, Legal and Tax
- You contribute to strategy reviews, performance monitoring and the definition of corrective actions when targets or market conditions change
Your strengths
- A university degree in economics, finance, engineering, business administration or a related field provides a solid academic foundation
- 5+ years of professional experience in energy trading, origination, corporate development or strategy consulting
- You have a deep understanding of European energy markets and the dynamics of merchant trading and origination
- Proven experience in leading complex, cross-functional projects, coordinating senior stakeholders in a structured and results-oriented manner
- Strong financial acumen enables you to build robust business cases, assess investments and understand P&L impacts
- Excellent English skills are essential, while knowledge German or French is considered an advantage
